Weaver's house in Leiden (museum)
(okt 2024) Terug naar Mijn Stambomen
Do
you have ancestors in Leiden? Chances are they worked in the textile industry.
One
such house has been preserved in Leiden. Currently it is a (free) museum, fun
to visit, especially in combination with the Pilgrim Museum.

Because
the cottage was inhabited for a long time and received few improvements, it is
still in very old condition.

The
hallway, note the old tiles on the floor. At the back, a ladder to the attic
floor.

From
the front room you can see the back room through a closet.

The
back room, which includes the stove and bedstead.

from the other side with the bed box in the back.

The bedstead.
The door is not wonderfully insulated.

The toilet

The attic, also not well insulated. In some
places you can see right outside.

It was figured out who lived there in all those
centuries.
